Spacious and resource-rich environments

At Jellybeans Child Care Attadale, we believe that children learn through exploration and inquiry, through their own innate curiosity and desire to understand their world.

Jellybeans Attadale child care centre celebrates our large learning environments by creating experiences, play spaces and ‘nooks’ that are rich with meaningful learning resources, treasures and wonders to be discovered by the children.

We value the indoor and outdoor learning environments as equals. You will often find us using the space in the same ways, including for our sleep and meals. Our largely covered, spacious outdoor spaces support our children being outside as often as possible. We have a dedicated yard for our sustainability focus where we host our vegetable gardens and our worm farms.

At Jellybeans Attadale early learning centre, we believe that children are curious, playful and have an innate desire to learn and understand the world around them.

We celebrate that by creating play and inquiry based learning environments for the children to engage with and explore throughout the day. Our experienced educators and teachers plan a curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework and is designed to capture children’s interest in the lead up to formal schooling.

Our Early Learning Curriculum also provides children with :

  • Real life experiences: We engage with “life skills” through cooking lessons with our centre cook, maintaining and harvesting our gardens, caring for our worm farm and maintaining their space.
  • Sustainability Program: Our children are learning how to be sustainable people. We engage with ecological, human, economic and vitality sustainability creating a wholistic approach to life in an ever changing future.
  • Community engagement activities: We take our children out into the community as much as possible. Community walks and visits to the library are key to our connection to our local community, with children of all ages engaging in participating in these important learning experiences. Ask us about our trips to the café, library or simply our last walk through the streets next time you’re here.

Chrissy

I began working in Early Learning in 2013. I then taught Pre-Primary for 2 years and have since returned to Early Learning Centres. I joined the team here at Jellybeans Attadale in October 2021.

I am a qualified Early Childhood Teacher. I gained my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care through the University of Notre Dame Australia graduating in December 2016. I have worked my way from support staff to Centre Manager over my time at G8 Education and an independent centre, and I taught for 2 years in an independent school.

Children are smart, creative, kind, curious and have an innate desire to understand their world. I believe there’s nothing more rewarding than watching a child learn with passion and wonder. Our role as educators is to guide, support and strengthen each child’s learning journey. It is our relationships and our own passion for life and learning that are the key to being a successful teacher. If we can provide opportunities for children to learn and encourage them to try, we are giving them the stepping stones for success.

Children learn in all kinds of ways and we are so lucky to be providing a learning environment that caters so remarkably to the individual child and simultaneously to the whole group. What we are offering is a wholistic learning environment where children are the centre of their own learning.

We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community. It’s the sort of centre where everyone knows all the children and their families and you know that you’ll always be welcomed with open arms.

We understand that parents are looking for a place to bring their child to people that genuinely care about them and will help them in those crucial first five years of their learning journey. It takes a village to raise a child, and this could not be truer to the experience we provide here.

We look forward to meeting your family!

Nursery 1 –  1:4 Child to Educator Ratio

In this space our children experience a warm welcome to an extremely tailored nurture environment. The educators engage with a routine that closely resembles the home routine of each individual child when it comes to sleep and meal times.

The Nursery One curriculum focusses on early experience, sight, sound, touch, communication/connection and movement.

Nursery 2 – 1:4 child to educator ratio

In this space, our children are feeling a lot more confident so we are providing them the space to explore! We begin to look more closely children’s motor skills, communication and continue with lots of sight, sound, touch and movement – all the things that keep a busy baby going!

Toddler 1 – 1:5 child to educator ratio

In this space, our children are welcomed into a social and enquiry focused space. Our educators have created a curriculum that provides opportunities for the children to explore each day. Communication and relationship building is at the core of our development here, alongside consistency of routine and team.

Toddler 2 – 1:5/1:10 child to educator ratio

In this space. our educators have created a program that includes carefully planned music, dance, games and reading experiences. Our children are provided support in developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler rooms are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important, as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation.

Kindergarten –  1:10 Child to Educator Ratio

Our kindergarten program is a unique environment that combines the play-based enquiry learning at our core, with a curriculum that matches the equivalent learning that is provided in a school setting.

Our play and enquiry based curriculum encourages active engagement in learning and supports a range of developmental outcomes including resilience, critical thinking, independence and creativity.

Our kindergarten program provides children with the opportunity to gain a fully recognised Kindergarten learning experience in a setting that caters for the individual child and provides the flexibility of long day care hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time suitable to your family schedule. Jellybeans also offers the virtual tour option in all our centres. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Jellybeans’ Family Support team will add your child’s name to our waitlist if one of our centres is currently full in your child’s age group. We will then contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

We also do monthly check-ins to review the availability, and you will receive a text message confirming if you’re still happy to remain on the waitlist each month. If you would like to get an update at any point, you’re welcome to reach out on our Web Chat or give us a call.

Our Family Support team can also help you find more G8 early learning centres near you, with the same offerings at the Jellybeans centre you are interested in that have immediate availability.

It’s common for a child to experience separation anxiety when they first start child care. When you’re getting ready to start child care, you can help your child overcome anxieties by visiting the child care centre together for a Stay and Play session, and easing into new routines at home.

Most of our Jellybeans child care and early education centres offer the following:

  • Nappies and wipes
  • Sunscreen and hats
  • Nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook

Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Jellybean uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day. After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre, and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Jellybeans is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without the need for families to provide documentation.
