Moving to a new room is an important milestone in your child\u2019s early learning journey. Room transitions mark developmental progress and growth, and they are carefully planned to ensure children feel safe, confident, and supported every step of the way.<\/p>\n

We understand that transitions can feel reassuring for some families and uncertain for others. That\u2019s why we take a personalised, gradual approach that centres your child\u2019s wellbeing and keeps families informed throughout the process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

How do we assist with room transitions<\/h2>\n

Our approach includes:<\/p>\n

1. Setting up for success with learning aspirations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before a transition, we partner with families to review your child\u2019s learning aspirations. This information, along with insights from your child\u2019s current educators, is shared with the new room team so they understand your child\u2019s strengths, interests, routines, and areas where extra support may be helpful.<\/p>\n

2. Continuity of care<\/strong><\/p>\n

Where possible, familiar educators move with children into their next room. Having a known and trusted educator helps children feel secure and supported as they adjust to new spaces, routines, and peers.<\/p>\n

3. Visiting to build familiarity<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gradual room transitions or “visits” start 2 weeks before your child officially transitions into their new room. During these 2 weeks, your child will be invited to \u2018visit\u2019 their new room for short and then gradually longer periods of the day, to help them become comfortable in their new rooms prior to the official transition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n

4. Small touches that make a big difference<\/strong><\/p>\n

To help your child feel a sense of belonging, we include thoughtful details such as displaying your child\u2019s artwork in the new room or preparing their locker and name label ahead of time.<\/p>\n

5. Keeping you informed every step of the way<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before your child\u2019s transition, you\u2019ll receive details about their new Educators, practical information on what to bring, and how we\u2019ll support them during the change. This stage is also supported by your child\u2019s Individual Learning Plan (ILP), highlighting their goals, interests, and next steps to ensure their development continues seamlessly in their new environment.<\/p>\n

6. Your child at the centre of everything we do<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our teachers and educators will spend as much time as possible with your child to build a strong bond with them from the start. To do this, we ensure that any documentation being sent to you on your child during this time is considered and meaningful to you and your family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n
